CHIEF ENGINEER NJOKU NWAWUDU FOUNDATION For Human Development

Our foundation honours CHIEF ENGINEER NJOKU NWAWUDU, Nigeria’s First Marine Engineer. He was bom in 1932 and educated in Imo State Nigeria. He joined the Nigerian Navy in 1956 and served several tours overseas as a Naval Officer. He was a man of great humility and kindness who was popular and well-liked by people he encountered. For many decades, he traveled between the United Kingdom and Imo State. Nigeria executing his mission to help the less fortunate.

Chief Engr. Njoku Nwawudu helped and sponsored many people to travel overseas to further their education. 1 le gave many people their first start in life, and amongst other good deeds, he;

He got married to his wife, Mma Leonie Nwawudu in 1959 and together had 6 children, who all resided in London. United Kingdom. When the Nigerian civil war (known as the Biafra War) broke out in Nigeria 1967, Chief Eng. Njoku Nwawudu assisted with the war efforts by feeding the starving, providing water and shelter which helped to save lives.
